Enhanced wake
The effects of enhanced wakes on lakes nationwide is not a new topic of discussion. Many municipalities and lake districts have been studying various aspects of enhanced wakes for years. Approximately a year ago, the WBT Lake Association began to engage with various parties to learn more about the topic. 

An enhanced wake is defined as "a trail of disturbed water left by the passage of a watercraft in excess of 24 inches which is created through the use of ballast and other mechanical devices".

The WBT Lake Association is providing the following links/articles conducted by various entities. Each link/article utilizes varying methods of research, different benchmarks to measure results and potential special interest funding. Other articles covering enhanced wake may be available. In addition, proposed legislation at the state level is being provided below for your information. Each association member shall draw their own conclusion from the links/articles below or from their own research.
